What we collect

When you use Good Counsel, we collect the information you share during intake — your description of the situation, any documents you upload, and contact details you provide so an attorney can reach you.

How we use it

We use what you share to classify your situation, screen for fit, and route your matter to a qualified attorney licensed in your state. We do not sell your information, and we do not resell the same conversation to multiple attorneys.

AI processing

Your intake conversation is processed by large-language-model technology to help classify and summarize your situation. The attorney you’re matched with sees your full transcript.

SMS notifications (attorneys)

Subscribing attorneys may optionally provide a mobile phone number to receive transactional SMS alerts when a new matched lead is waiting. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in status are used solely to deliver these lead-alert messages and to honor opt-out requests. We do not share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in status, or any other information collected for the SMS program with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Carriers receive only the information necessary to deliver each message. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by toggling SMS off in your account settings; opt-out is recorded and respected on subsequent sends. Full SMS program terms, including frequency and message-rate disclosures, appear in the attorney terms of service.

Your choices

You can request deletion of information you’ve shared, request a copy of what we hold, or opt out of future communications at any time by emailing privacy@goodcounselnow.com.
